WIF PARTNERS WITH WOMEN'S FOOTBALL AWARDS 2025

Women in Football is excited to confirm that the organisation will again be an official partner to the Women’s Football Awards in 2025 – and WIF members are encouraged to submit nominations right now.

Hailed as Europe’s biggest prize event in the booming world of women’s football, the awards honour the players, backroom staff, clubs and brands making the greatest contributions of the year.

And the 2024 awards were a sparkling celebration of all that’s great in the field – including WIF CEO Yvonne Harrison, who was named Women’s Football Champion of the Year, and her predecessor Jane Purdon, who took home the Unsung Hero Award.

The WIF duo found themselves in legendary company, with other winners including the likes of Mary Earps MBE, Sarina Wiegman CBE and Alex Scott MBE.

WIF also sponsored the Football Business Trailblazer award at last year’s event, which was won by Bolton Wanderers FC owner Sharon Brittan.

The 2025 Women’s Football Awards are open for nominations now, with the shortlist to be revealed on 7 March and the winners announced at a prestigious ceremony in London on 1 May.

Broadcaster and former Lioness Eni Aluko MBE, who hosted the awards in 2023 and 2024, said: “The Women’s Football Awards is the largest and most prestigious celebration of women’s football in Britain and Europe. The game is growing at an extraordinary rate, and the 2025 ceremony will be the perfect moment to celebrate those who are making history.

“What makes these awards so special is that the public has the power to decide who deserves recognition — so we’re encouraging everyone to nominate their heroes today!”

With Women in Football membership having passed the 10,000 mark last year, the WIF community could play a big role in deciding which names go onto those trophies in May. Nominations are open until 1 March – submit yours now via the Women’s Football Awards website.
