NEWCASTLE UNITED FC TO SUPPORT FEMALE WORKFORCE BY JOINING WOMEN IN FOOTBALL

Newcastle United FC today become the latest high-profile club to sign up to Women in Football’s Corporate Membership programme, which offers a range of resources to help forward-thinking employers work towards gender equality.

Corporate members of WIF receive support through a range of services which are chosen to suit their particular needs in terms of developing as a female-friendly employer.

The Tyneside club joins Brentford FC, Brighton & Hove Albion FC and Manchester City FC among the other employers on the programme.

Services available to the clubs from WIF’s team of experts include an assessment of organisational culture and support in fostering inclusive team dynamics. Direct support to the female workforce can be provided through group coaching, mentoring, and places on the highly renowned Women in Football Leadership Course in partnership with Barclays.

Other corporate members of Women in Football include the Premier League itself and the Premier League Charitable Fund, the EFL, Sky Sports, Team Marketing, tms, and Sodexo Live!

WIF CEO Yvonne Harrison said: "Women in Football are thrilled to welcome Newcastle United FC and their employees to our roster of corporate members. We’re looking forward to working alongside the club and we can’t wait to start providing some impactful benefits to empower their workforce.

"By joining our Corporate Membership scheme, employers are committing to make a meaningful difference and supporting gender equality in practical ways. Diverse organisations are more effective organisations and more effective clubs are good for the football industry as a whole."

Dominica O’Neil, Director of People and Talent at Newcastle United, said: "We are delighted to be teaming up with Women in Football. Newcastle United is a family club and we are committed to enhancing our positive culture and being a wonderful place to work for all employees.

"We love the work WIF has been doing and we can't wait to start working with them to support our female workforce in realising their huge potential."

Look out for more announcements about our new corporate members in the days and weeks ahead.
