BRENTFORD FC LEVEL UP ON GENDER EQUALITY BY JOINING WOMEN IN FOOTBALL

Forward-thinking Premier League club Brentford FC have shown their commitment to gender equality by signing up to become Women in Football's newest corporate member.

The London outfit, whose men’s team have exceeded all expectations since reaching England's top division in 2021, will receive a bespoke package of consultancy services from WIF's team of experts, providing development opportunities for their workforce and empowering them to become a truly gender-equal employer.

WIF's Corporate Membership programme also gives organisations priority access to places at high-profile events such as the Women in Football Be Inspired Conference in partnership with Barclays.

Yvonne Harrison, Women in Football CEO, said: "We extend the warmest of welcomes to the staff of Brentford FC as the club joins our roster of corporate members. It's great to have you on board and we can't wait to start working with you!

"Joining Women in Football's Corporate Membership scheme is the perfect way for employers to make a meaningful commitment to gender equality, and diverse organisations are more effective – so this is great news both for the women working at Brentford and the club as a whole."

Progressive approach

The Bees have developed a strong reputation in the football industry for their progressive approach to equality. With a diverse board of directors that has boasted the talents of WIF board member Monique Choudhuri, the club has taken proactive steps to be inclusive of women and people from underrepresented cultural backgrounds among its workforce and fanbase.

Kaammini Chanrai, Brentford’s Equity and Inclusion Director, said: “As a corporate member of Women in Football we’re now looking forward to working together towards a shared goal of promoting and supporting women's involvement in the world of football at Brentford.

“We are particularly excited about the personal and professional growth opportunities this will provide for the women at the club. We recognise that there is much more for us to do in this space, but we feel this is a positive step welcoming more women at Brentford and supporting our initiatives with women’s players.”

Brentford join Brighton & Hove Albion FC and Manchester City FC (via City Football Group) as the clubs belonging to WIF's family of corporate members, alongside Onside Law, PepsiCo, the Premier League and Premier League Charitable Fund, Sky Sports, TEAM Marketing and Visa.
