To celebrate the renewal of their partnership with Women in Football, Barclays will host a networking reception at Wembley on the evening of 15 March, during this year's Be Inspired Conference.
Together the two organisations will also carry out detailed research among WIF members to gauge the extent of progress towards gender equality in the football industry since 2013, when the partnership between Barclays and Women in Football officially began.
Beyond its long-term sponsorship of the Premier League, Barclays is a pioneer in its support in women’s and girls’ football with its record investments since 2019 into the Barclays Women’s Super League and the FA Girls’ Football School Partnership with an ambition to give girls equal access to football in schools by 2024.
In the last year, Barclays has doubled down on its commitment, becoming the first title sponsor of the FA Women’s Championship and rolling out the Barclays Community Football Fund which offers grants and resources to grassroots football groups. The continued partnership with Women In Football extends Barclays ambition to create equal opportunities with football.
Women in Football CEO Yvonne Harrison said: "Barclays is widely recognised as a wonderful supporter of the game in general, and women's football in particular. So we couldn't be happier that Barclays has chosen to invest further in WIF, enabling us to work harder than ever for gender equality in the football industry.
"The team at Barclays have been a pleasure to work with, and we're excited to continue the relationship, supporting women in all roles on and off the pitch. Our new agreement will help Women in Football to amplify our message, scale our reach, and accelerate positive change for gender equality across the football industry."
Barclays' Managing Director, Group Head of Sponsorship, Tom Corbett, said: "Women in Football is leading the way to drive gender equality in the industry, and Barclays is delighted to extend our support of WIF, helping to make football a fairer place where talented women can succeed.
“As Women in Football’s lead partner, we at Barclays look forward to supporting more women in the football industry with access to more inspirational events, training and development opportunities at every stage of their careers."
