Women in Football emphasises support for players taking the knee

As we prepare for the long-awaited return to live games, Women in Football supports all players, managers and individuals who wish to take the knee ahead of matches this season.

A statement from Premier League players said: "We feel now, more than ever, it is important for us to continue to take the knee as a symbol of unity against all forms of racism. We remain resolutely committed to our singular objective of eradicating racial prejudice wherever it exists, to bring about a global society of inclusion, respect and equal opportunities for all."

Jane Purdon, CEO of Women in Football, said: "Racism in any form is unacceptable and Women in Football supports all who choose to take the knee as a powerful symbol against racism and to highlight injustice.

"There is no place for discrimination of any kind within football, and we will continue to work tirelessly to bring about our vision of a game where everyone can thrive.

"Football is for everyone."
