The Sports Journalists’ Association are inviting aspiring student journalists from around the UK to join an exclusive panel and Q&A discussion on the future of sports media on Thursday 26 November at 17:00 (UK local time).
The event, which is free on zoom, will feature members such as Faye Carruthers and Leon Mann, plus others from a variety of journalism backgrounds including broadcast, digital, agencies and newspapers.
Faye is one of the hosts on talkSPORT’s Saturday GameDay coverage as well as the station’s England correspondent and host of women’s football weekly. A broadcaster with two decades experience, she is also a regular on Sky Sports and the Guardian Football Weekly podcast and a member of Women in Football.
Leon is another great friend of Women n Football, and is the vice-chairman of the Sports Journalists’ Association. With more than a decade of experience in sport and media, he has worked with some of the world’s most respected companies including BBC and ITV. Leon has been international spokesperson for football’s anti-racism campaigns Kick It Out and Football Against Racism in Europe. In 2010, he founded the Black Collective of Media in Sport (BCOMS).
Sachin Nakran, sports journalist with The Guardian and, James Toney, managing editor at Sportsbeat who is the event moderator, complete an exceptional line-up.
