Denmark’s Pernille Harder, runner-up in the women’s Champions League with Wolfsburg, along with France’s Wendie Renard (Olympique Lyonnaise) and Spain’s Jennifer Hermoso (FC Barcelona) are in the running for the Best Female Player Award at the 2020 WFS Industry Awards.
The Awards are presented annually by World Football Summit to acknowledge and reward the achievements of those working in the industry whose talent, passion and dedication help make football the world’s most popular sport.
The categories of Best Male and Female Player were created this year to reward the efforts of professional footballers, the great protagonists of this sport together with the fans, across one of the most difficult years in the history of the game.
Women in Football are again honoured to be involved in the Awards, presenting the 'Best Women's Football Initiative' honour to one of the three finalists: Football Association Of Norway/Football - For All In Vietnam Project, Special Olympics and 16Over90 (Visa's support of women's football).
Other new categories added for this edition were: Outstanding Innovation Initiative presented by N3XT Sport and Best Digital Platform presented by Seven League.
