Women in Football CEO Jane Purdon has been appointed as Chair of the Professional Game Academy Audit Company (PGAAC), starting from Monday 9 November.
The PGAAC was established in 2018 by the Premier League, EFL and the FA, to support the ongoing delivery of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
It provides independent quality assurance to all Club Academies in the Professional Game.
Jane, a qualified lawyer, was appointed as Club Secretary and Solicitor at Sunderland in 2001 before joining the Premier League in 2005. She enjoyed 10 years at the League, rising to become Director of Governance.
She had responsibility for maintaining and enforcing the Premier League Handbook, and was heavily involved in the drafting and introduction of the Youth Development Rules as part of the implementation of the EPPP.
In 2015, Jane joined UK Sport as Head of Governance and Leadership, working with the UK’s Olympic and Paralympic programmes to ensure high standards of governance.
She was appointed the first-ever CEO of Women in Football in 2018 and will continue in this role, alongside her new appointment.
