19 October 2020
Inspirational figures from black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds will be celebrated again by the 2020 Football Black List awards.
Football Black List aims to inspire the next generation by highlighting Black leaders and pioneers from within the game.
Last year footballer Anita Asante and Sarah Ebanja, the chief executive of the Tottenham Hotspur FC Foundation, were among those honoured.
The nomination process for this year's awards (closing date 23 October) is already underway with a new category to celebrate the achievements of Black LGBT+ people in the industry. The widely respected initiative will also recognise the incredible contribution of Black disabled people to the game. These new additions will be ongoing and driven by experts, with knowledge and experience, and all categories of the list will continue to be open to everyone for nomination.
This is a great opportunity to put forward names of those you feel should be considered for celebration and recognition across all areas of the game in the following categories:
* Administration
* Community and Grassroots,
* Cyrille Regis’ Players (for off the field work)
* Media
* Practitioners
* Coaching and Management
* Commercial
* LGBT+ Award
* Ugo Ehiogu’s Ones To Watch (under 30 and excelling).
