Chloe Morgan and Jade Morgan - joint recipients of the Vikki Orvice Memorial Directorship Scheme
When Poonam Majithia was announced as the first ever the recipient of the Vikki Orvice Memorial Directorship Scheme in 2019, it was the start of a year-long stint on Women in Football's board.
The Scheme was set up in memory of Vikki, one of the founder members of WiF and a trailblazer for women working in the game.
The concept behind it was simple - to help one individual develop the skills necessary so that they could seek a board position by working closely with ours for one year.
Such was the outstanding quality of applicants for the Scheme this year, a decision was made to hand both Chloe Morgan and Jade Morgan this incredible opportunity - and the duo can't wait to get started.
"Women in Football have always been at the forefront of pushing the women's game forward and I am very excited to now have the opportunity to learn from and assist the Board this year," said Chloe, a lawyer and also goalkeeper for Crystal Palace.
Jade, General Manager at Leicester City Football Club – Women, said: "Women in Football is a remarkable, positive, and forward-thinking organisation. I am delighted to be a recipient of the Vikki Orvice Memorial Director Development Scheme.
"Women in Football has enabled a movement which has empowered women to believe; that anything is possible when networks come together. The breadth of opportunity and experience offered so far has been fantastic."
Both Chloe and Jade are determined to use the coming 12 months as an opportunity for their own personal development and also as a platform to make a difference too.
"I decided to apply for the Vikki Orvice Memorial Directorship Scheme because I have reached a point in my career where I wanted to do more for women in football," added Chloe, who is also a goalkeeper coach and Diversity & Inclusion Officer for Goaldiggers FC.
"I felt it was no longer enough to just comment on the issues. I wanted to be at the table and to use the experiences I've gained working with grassroots clubs, coaching and also playing within the WSL & Championship to hopefully offer a different perspective and to provide ideas on how to continue helping the women's game to progress."
Those sentiments were shared by Jade, who added, "
"Joining the Women in Football Board will be a great opportunity for personal growth, but equally my contributions towards the wider development of the women’s game in Leicestershire.
"It is imperative as part of my role at Leicester City Football Club to be central in that growth; to empower positive contributions, and aid in shaping the game. I believe, strongly, women need to be part of that crusade.
"It is also important to inspire the women of today and the young girls of tomorrow that you can do anything you put your mind to. Encouraging women to be strong leaders working off the pitch making positive contributions."
Welcome on board Chloe and Jade.
