New series #TalentTakesTime hosted by Alison Bender offers tips and truths for sports journalists

Want to work in sports journalism? Already work in it and need some advice? Want to hear some of the challenges faced, tips and truths?
Well Alison Bender's new series called #TalentTakesTime every Tuesday on IGTV is just the place to find out more.
Alison, who will host the series over eight weeks on her instagram channel @alibendertv, knows a thing or two about the business having worked for Chelsea TV, Real Madrid TV, BBC, ITV, Sky Sports and ESPN.
Over the coming two months she will be chatting to inspirational females in the Sports Broadcasting industry including Natalie Sawyer (TalkSPORT), Rachel Burden (BBC 5Live/ BBC Breakfast), Natalie Pirks (BBC Sports Correspondent), Kay Murray (ESPN), Reshmin Chowdhury (BT Sport/ TalkSPORT) and Rebecca Lowe from NBC.
Women in Football are represented too with board member Jo Tongue, a Talent Manager/Agent and Ambassador Jacqui Oatley, of BBC/ITV, completing the octet of superb women guests.
Topics covered will include:
- Tips on entering the world of Broadcast Journalism
- Tips for those in the industry already
- Brutal truths about the industry
- The things they’ve learned along the way
- The career/ motherhood juggle
- Embracing the long game and rejection
- Things they were told that hindered them
It promises to be powerful, possibly painful at times too, but an open, honest and raw discussion about working in the industry.
And once series one is finished, watch out for for the second phase focusing on sports writers!
