Lewes FC striker Jess King hits the right note with 'Raise Us Up"

Jess King - 'Raise Us Up' is a powerful rap that also pays tribute to some of the greats in the women’s game
Jess King is something of a footballing globetrotter in a career that started at Liverpool, took her to Canada, Switzerland, Germany and Norway before she joined Lewes FC in 2019.
Known for her shooting ability on the pitch, Jess has another goal in sight following the release of 'Raise Us Up', a rap she wrote to express her personal history, frustration and hopes around the struggles and hopes of women’s football.
Raise Us Up also pays tribute to some of the greats in the women’s game who have inspired Jess to keep going and breakthrough. It is a rallying call to football and to the wider world that when it comes to gender inequality in football, in the world, enough is enough.
