Brentford FC are celebrating International Women's Day with the brilliant women who work at the club
In the lead up to this year’s International Women’s Day, on Sunday 8 March, Monique Choudhuri who is a Women in Football Board member and Non-Executive Director at Brentford FC, joined together with some of the women that work at the Club and at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust to showcase their contribution and encourage women and girls to consider working in the football industry.
Brentford is one of only a handful of football clubs that are registered as an Inclusive Employer and actively seeks to encourage more women to apply for roles at the Club. As things stand, the percentage of women working at Brentford (taking out the First and B teams) stands at 27 per cent. This may be higher than most other clubs but can be increased further.
Monique, who is the Club’s Board Champion for Diversity and Inclusion, said: “I’m proud of the fact that Brentford Football Club is an Inclusive Employer and that we currently have 27 per cent women among our non-playing staff.
"It’s great to take a moment on International Women’s Day to celebrate the contribution being made by women at the Club to support the off-field operations as well as the many female matchday staff and I hope it serves to inspire future generations of women and young girls to think about a career in football.”
A number of key roles at the Club are currently held by women including Club Secretary, Head of Football Operations, Finance Director, Box Office Manager, Matchday Presentation and Events Manager and Fan and Community Relations Director.
