Ebru Köksal - wants you to be involved with Women in Football.s #WhatIf campaign too
Women in in Football launched the second phase of its ground-breaking #WhatIf campaign to a packed house at Twitter's London HQ on Tuesday 21 May.
#WhatIf is a campaign that initially kicked off in May 2018, aiming to change the football landscape for girls and women.
Such has been the huge engagement over the past 12 months that WiF marked the first anniversary of #WhatIf by holding a second event, co-hosted by the brilliant Benny Bonsu and Nick Bright.
Some huge pledges came in from organisations including FIFPro, The FA, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, Deloitte, TalkSport, Telegraph Women's Sport, Sky Sports - the list goes on and on.
The landscape is shifting.
And Women in football chair Ebru Köksal has called for YOU to get involved too. #WhatIf is not a campaign that stands still, it is evolving, a movement of change and every single person can play a part.
"It has been an amazing year for Women in Football and Women’s Football," said Ebru. "There has been record attendances all over the world, amazing viewership, impressive media coverage as well as more and more sponsors coming on board with big commitments like Barclays, Visa, Nike, Boots.
"Calls for equality has been receiving increasing support but we all know that equality doesn't guarantee inclusion, women in football continue to be isolated.
"Further progress depends on inclusion and inclusion begins with connection. WiF has been the connector of close to 3.000 amazing women working in different corners and silos of the beautiful game.
"On the journey to inclusion, #WhatIf has become a groundbreaking social movement with more than 200 corporate and individual pledgers.
"A huge heartfelt thanks to all our believers and supporters.
"The big question is: #WhatIsNext?
"We need to continue pushing for diversity and inclusion to be embedded in the football organisations’ strategy and sincerely owned by the men at the decision making levels.
"We at WIF believe that everyone can continue to play a role in the transformative change that has started."
