News Associates and Sportsbeat, in partnership with the Sports Journalists’ Association, have announced the launch of a journalism diversity scholarship for aspiring sports journalists.

The successful applicant will have their fees covered while they undertake their NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Sports Journalism at News Associates, with the option of studying in either London or Manchester, from September 2, 2019.

At the conclusion of their studies the successful candidate will be offered a full-time four-month contract at national press agency Sportsbeat, commencing May 2020 based in London.

SJA co-chair Janine Self said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to give a helping hand to someone from a diverse background. We are very pleased to be working with News Associates and Sportsbeat.”
