Susanna Dinnage makes U-turn over Premier League role

Susanna Dinnage will no longer be taking up the position of Chief Executive of the Premier League

Susanna Dinnage will now not be taking up the position of Chief Executive at the Premier League following a surprise announcement.

Barely a month after she was named as Richard Scudamore's replacement, Susanna informed the Premier League of her decision not to take up the lucrative role. She had been expected to start in early 2019.

A statement released by the Premier League said: “Despite her commitment to the Premier League in early November, Susanna Dinnage has now advised the nominations committee that she will not be taking up the position of Chief Executive.

"The committee has reconvened its search and is talking to candidates. There will be no further comment until an appointment is made.”

Dinnage will stay at media organisation Discovery, where she was the global president of the Animal Planet channel.

The Premier League will continue with acting chief executive Richard Masters and interim chair Claudia Arney  as they resume their search.
