NextGen Leader 2019 honour for WiF Board Member Lungi Macebo

Lungi Macebo - named as a NextGen Leader for 2019

Women in Football Board Member Lungi Macebo has been named as a NextGen Leader for 2019 - one of 30 rising professionals from across the UK sports industry to receive this prestigious honour.

Lungi, HR Manager at Charlton Athletic, is joined by Emma Vetriano (Account Manager, EA SPORTS FIFA Global Partnerships, EA) and Sarah Nickless (FA Youth Council Chair, The FA), in making up a record 43 per cent of women as 2019 Leaders.

The NextGen Leaders, which presents a diverse and exciting future for the sector, is aimed at industry professionals aged 30 and younger.

It is designed to better equip emerging talent for leadership roles within sport – and in turn to ensure the industry itself is fit to face the challenges of the future at a time of rapid change.

Successful applicants, who are selected for both their existing ability and future potential, will benefit from a year-long Leadership Package which includes money-can’t-buy training, personal development and networking opportunities.

Alex Coulson, managing director of Sport Industry Group said: “It’s vital to support the engine room of the industry as they continue their journey to the very top.

"It’s also of huge benefit to the wider industry to hear the fresh thoughts and ideas from those at the forefront of sport business, not just opinions from the boardroom. Reciprocal learning is a common thread that runs throughout Sport Industry NextGen and that is why it continues to go from strength to strength and proving huge benefit to the Leaders, Coaches, partners and the wider industry.”
