Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor is going pink for October to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a cause very close to the heart of the 28-year-old, who has had four family members suffer with the disease in recent years.
Lyle, who arrived at The Valley in the summer from AFC Wimbledon, showed off his new look for the first time before Charlton Athletic Women's 4-1 victory at Lewes. The Sussex club also hosted a bucket collection before the game to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
He said: “It's going to be good because as soon as somebody says to me, 'Why have you got pink hair?', that's my job done. It's starting a conversation.
“We [as players] are in a very fortunate position whereby we are revered, and we are looked up to and idolised. It's about me being able to give something back, especially when this is something that is close to my heart.
"It's affected me, my family, family friends, and people close to me.
"I've been lucky enough to put in this position, and it's nice for me to give something back."
