Casey Stoney MBE in line for Manchester United manager's job

Casey Stoney MBE - set to be confirmed as the new manager of Manchester United's women's team

Casey Stoney MBE is set to become the manager of Manchester United's new women's team.

United's first ever professional women's team will start in the second tier next season and Casey is expected to step down as Phil Neville's No.2 to concentrate on her new managerial role.

The 36-year-old has great knowledge of the game, having amassed 130 caps for England during a long and distinguished playing career at Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

She also had experience of managing Chelsea in 2009 and is widely regarded as one of the country's top coaches.

When Phil Neville was appointed England boss, he was quick to bring Casey on board and her experience during the early stages of his tenure proved vital as the duo steered England through to the World Cup.
