Exciting teenage goalkeeper prospect Lauren Perry has won the inaugural Ulster Women's Player of the Year award.

The honour caps a quite remarkable year for the 17-year-old, who only signed for Linfield Ladies in March 2017 and helped the club to the league title in her first season.

Lauren, from Ballynahinch, was also drafted in to the final squad for the UEFA Women's Under 19 Championships, before playing in the Champions League with Linfield and then made her senior debut in a 5-2 win against Sion Swifts.

She is already an established international having made her Northern Ireland debut in the World Cup qualifier defeat by Norway last September.

The young goalkeeper actually started out as a left back, making her journey - and the short time it has taken her to get to the top - even more remarkable.
