Bramall Lane confirmed as venue for FA WPL Championship Play-Off

Bramall Lane - confirmed as the venue for the FA WPL Championship Play-Off on 27 May

Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for the FA Women’s Premier League Championship Play-Off on Sunday 27 May.

The Play-Off pitches the champions of the northern and southern divisions in a winner-takes-all one off match where the victors are promoted to the new FA Women’s Championship, subject to meeting license criteria.

FA Women’s Premier League chairperson Carol West said: “Bramall Lane is a fine platform for such a massive match.

“The title race in both northern and southern divisions is still very much alive so the next few weeks will be very exciting.

“With promotion a possibility for the winner, the reward is two-fold and if the last few Play-Off Finals are anything to go by we are in for a fantastic game at a fantastic stadium.”

Dave McCarthy, Sheffield United’s operations director, added: “We are delighted to be hosting this match.

“We hope that everyone attending the final enjoys their day out and we will be working with the FA Women’s Premier League to ensure the final is staged in a wonderful and friendly atmosphere.

“I hope our own supporters and those of other teams in the area come along to watch what looks like being an exciting final.

“We have staged a number of similar fixtures over the past couple of seasons and all have been well-attended. We hope this one proves to be the same.”

Tickets are priced £5 adults and £2.50 concessions, whilst it’s ‘Kids for a Quid’ and U3s get free admission.
