WiF's Leadership Workshop is heading to Manchester

Women in Football’s fourth Leadership Workshop will be held on Wednesday 7 February 2018 – and we are delighted to confirm that our first Workshop in the north west will be hosted by City Football Academy.

The course, which runs from 9am - 6pm at City Football Academy, is designed to develop critical leadership skills, including negotiation and decision-making as well as project and time management for professional women working across the football industry.

Highly respected FIFA and UEFA Consultant Ebru Köksal will host the day and share her personal experience and expertise. Ebru will be joined by other guest speakers at the event.

Previous attendees have been full of praise for the Workshop, stating:

The course is distilled to cover maximum learning and help women occupy executive positions in football by giving them the skills they need to help fulfil their leadership potential.

It will cover the following topics:

  • Decision-making
  • Managing and influencing others
  • Networking
  • Time management
  • Project management

The applications process is now open and we are offering an early bird discount price of £275, which is available until 10.01.2018. Thereafter, the price is £350. Lunch and refreshments are included in the price.

Ebru Köksal  

Ebru is a recognised consultant in FIFA’s Development programme and a mentor on FIFA's Female Leadership Development programme and the UEFA Women in Football Leadership Programme.

Ebru began her professional career in New York, as a financial analyst in corporate finance at Morgan Stanley, and served as a senior manager at Citibank and AIG between 1992-2000. Since joining Galatasaray Football Club in 2001, Ebru held several senior positions and following the merger of the football, stadium and marketing companies in 2010, she was appointed the General Manager of the merged entity, Galatasaray Sportif A.

Ebru was the first woman to be elected to the Executive Board of the European Club Association in September 2010 and she served as the Vice Chairwoman of the Institutional Relations Working Group. In October 2011, she was appointed as the General Secretary of the Turkish Football Federation. She was the recipient of the Executive of the Year Award 2011 by Stadium Business Awards.

Ebru is a graduate of Brown University, with a dual degree in Economics and International Relations. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a graduate of Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, May 2017.
