Inspire, Develop and Promote - special event to 'Celebrate the Female Game' now confirmed

Celebrate the Female Game - special event to be held at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium

The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA has extended an invitation to all Women in Football members to attend ‘Celebrate the Female Game’, an event that will recognise and acknowledge the success of women and girls’ football at a local level.

A TV audience estimated to be in the region of over 4million tuned in to watch England bow out to eventual Euro 2017 champions Holland earlier this month as Mark Sampson's Lionesses inspired a nation of players, coaches, referees, volunteers and football fans.

Now the Sheffield & Hallamshire Couny FA want to build on that by inspiring, developing and promoting at a local level and will be celebrating grassroots female football with their event on Wednesday 20th September at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium  (6.30 - 9.30pm).

There will be guest speakers from coaching, refereeing and volunteering in female football across Sheffield & Hallamshire who will be sharing inspiring stories about their challenges and successes and how they have influenced and inspired others.

You can put your ideas forward on the night to help develop the game further. A complimentary buffet and tea/coffee refreshments, and raffle will also be available.

The event is FREE to all S&HCFA members (players, coaches, volunteers, referees, and young leaders - anyone who works in the female game).  Attendees must register beforehand as spaces are limited.  Registrations can be made here.  Please note that the minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or carer.

For any further information about the event please contact Natasha Wilson on 0114 261 5550.

Don't forget that you can join Women in Football here - and it's totally free of charge!
