Celebration, discussion and debate from leading female voices
Nicola Palios, vice-chairman of Tranmere Rovers Football Club and Anna Kessel, co-founder and chair of Women in Football, will head a panel as part of the two-day WOW - Women of the World Festival from Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st May in Chester.
The festival will be held at the spectacular Storyhouse, a £37million new theatre, cinema and library facility in the heart of the city.
As football is now the top participation sport for women and girls in England, Nicola and Anna will join other keynote speakers on the Saturday (11.30am - 12.30pm) to discuss and celebrate the contributions made by women to our national game from the boardroom, to the training ground, the dugout or on the pitch.
The two-day event also includes panel discussions on a range of subjects including women in business, women in sport, domestic abuse and childlessness; an exhibition curated by 40 artists – many from Arab and Muslim cultures - and an interactive workshop for under 10s to explore what it means to be a girl.
