Leadership Course
Women in Football and our lead partner Barclays believe in creating opportunities for women to develop careers in the football industry. Our Leadership Course offers the opportunity to develop your potential as an individual, enhance your personal skills and learn new ones in a positive, supportive environment. The courses are open exclusively to women who are already working, or aspire to work, in the football industry.
Start your leadership journey with a range of topics at levels 1 and 2 including self-discovery, boosting your confidence and effective leadership skills. Then at levels 3 and 4, follow up with leadership in practice, personal branding, getting board-ready and planning your future. At level 3 we also undertake a psychometric profile and a 40-minute personal profile session. A minimum of 2-3 years management experience is required for level 3-4. Leadership Course spaces are limited so we suggest booking as soon as possible.
Women in Football and Barclays recognise that there is significant work to be done to advance racial equality in the football industry, and we are committed to providing greater access to opportunities for women from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented in the football industry. In support of this, we’ve teamed up with Barclays to provide a bursary place on each of our Leadership Courses for women from black, Asian, or other minority ethnic backgrounds. We offer both online and in person courses. The online edition offers the same opportunities to develop your potential as an individual, enhance your skills and learn new ones as part of a mutually supportive group of peers – with all the comfort and convenience of participation through your laptop. Friendly reminder: Note level 1-2 requires a few years work experience, Level 3-4 requires at least 2 years management experience. You do not need to complete levels 1-2 of the Women in Football Leadership Course to complete levels 3-4.

Session two level 1: Leading self - boosting your confidence
Session three level 2: Build your skills for effective leadership
Session four level 2: Build your skills for effective leadership continued
Sessions include: leadership styles, influencing others and managing your boss, decision making, public speaking, confidence building and many more.

Session four level 4: Branding and future plans continued
Sessions include: leadership styles and models for your toolkit, inclusive leadership, leading with extended DISC, networking, personal branding and marketing, board ready, personal development plan and group coaching. Level 3-4 also includes extended DISC profile and two group coaching sessions online after the course has ended.
